Up Late

I have been up for a few hours now. I went to Outback with a few of my fellow teachers for a birthday party for a another teacher's girlfriend. For some strange reason I decided to take a nap this afternoon and sleep till about 10:30. Now I am up and can't sleep. Maybe it is extened jet lag. Mike left a comment on here and I just went and checked out his blog. Its pretty good you can acess it here or from the side bar http://www.korea-bound.blogspot.com/ . I see we are both using the lonely planet phrasebook. His has gotten more use than mine though. I keep forgetting to carry it with me. I plan on getting very serious with my study of the langauge in the next couple of weeks. I started really learning Hangul (Korea Letters) yesterday.

I really hate the intensive working hours. I spent the last two months enjoying my sleeping late and being able to stay up late as well. I feel like I am back at Velma Jackson having to get up early for that long commute. On a good note, I have been waking up early so that I can go for my daily walk. I am still trying to progress up to a run. It is so easy to eat healthy here. Back home there was to much a temptation to eat fast food. Everything I have been eating is healthy. Maybe with the working out and eating right, I will drop some of those pounds I have put on.

I also checked out Southern Miss's football schedule. The first game is Sept. 4th against Tulane. I hope that AFN (Armed Forces Network) will at least show one of their games this season. Also I'm getting excited that Hockey will be back this year. I think the season starts on Oct. 5th. Speaking of sports I have been watching Pride FC out of Japan on TV here. It reminds me alot of Ultimate Fighting. I think back in the states you can get it on PPV, but here it is on basic cable. Check their homepage http://www.pridefc.com/ Be sure and check out the rules. I first saw this on TV and thought with the way they were coming to the ring that is was something like WWF but as soon as the fight started and blood was everywhere I knew it was something different. It it brutal.

I downloaded Skype today. As soon as I get a Microphone for my computer, I should be able to make calls home for close to 3 cents a minute. But until then will stick with the trusty calling card. Check out Skype at http://www.skype.com/ . I have heard that it really works well. You only have to start with about 12.00 dollars worth of credit so not to much of an investment.

One final note. My mom insisted on buying me a bunch of stickers for my students. They have been like gold for my younger students. Everytime I give a quiz now I hear. "Teacher 100 equals sticker" or if I ask a question " for sticker, teacher" And I haven't even broken out the good pens yet. Good call, Mom I started thinking about pulling this with my high school students back in the states.............yea right.
