300

Yesterday I had to train two new teachers. Cynthia and Helen. I think both of them will do well. Cynthia actually had seen my blog before so that was interesting to hear. She is from Texas and Helen is from Vancouver I believe. It is always interesting talking to new teachers on their first few days. They all have the look of "What did I get myself into" The training really sucks for them. You get off the plane and get one night of rest (if you can adjust to the time change) and then you come into the office and you get bombarded with how to teach all your classes. I mean honestly I was boring myself to sleep. It all makes no sense to you actually see how a class is taught. I tried to tell them everything I could that would make their first couple of days more adjustable. I felt bad about not being able to show them around Yeongtong. I had other obligations. guess we finished at about 4:45 and I still had to run to Homeplus, the florist, Artbox and back home to shave and get ready!

Jenny and I went out for our 300 days dinner(don't really celebrate 1 year of dating in Korea) We went to a fancy Korean restaurant that the school has taken us to for lunch. The dinner was unbelievable. 3 types of galbi, sushi, 3 or 4 different kinds of Kimchi. 3 soups. Korean Kimchi pancakes, 2 different types of salad. crab, fresh fruit, We left there and went to a fancy coffee shop we sat around here for about an hour and the moved on to BoBo's a bar near the school I still love my Jack and Coke except on the the menu the English was wrong and I saw that I was having a Jack and Cock.(Sounds like a drink you would have past the velvet line on Bourbon Street). The bar was the type where you can actually buy a bottle and keep it there in a little locker. I want my own locker! We had a few drinks here and shot some pool. We dropped by Ryan's on the way back to my apartment and played GoStop and Korean card game(kind of hard to describe you play with a different set of small cards) anyway I racked up and won about 8,000 won from him and Summer. Jenny also got to try champagne for the first time so that was an even in itself. Even after winning the money, I dropped a lot of cash last night, but alas it was all worth it. I didn't have to time to proofread for errors so give my grammar a break.......oh yeah the Florist and I have become real good friends. In my broken Korean, pointing and using paper and diagrams we have been able to communicate alot over the past 2 weeks ( two visits in two weeks). She is an upseller too.....I tell her how much and from what I get she tells me for 10,000 won more it will be prettier and bigger....That much I can understand!!!! I think she is nice to me because I am a sucker and always say Kinchana(OK). I am pretty sure that is misspelled in English, but damn it is hard to spell in Korean too! I did have to say no to her idea that I buy the purple roses sprinkled with purple glitter!!!!
