I just returned from my visit to Aju University Hospital. The hospital visit took about an hour. I felt like I was on an assembly line. I visited 6 or 7 different rooms and everything was super rushed Blood Pressure-Height/Weight-Urine Test- Blood Test- Eye Test- Hearing Test-Chest X-Ray-Dental Exam-and finally one more blood pressure test. Each of these tests was conducted in a different room. The doctor or handler was great. She took me to each room and told me what they were going to do and then explained the results. I have to wait a week before I get my results. We have to wait on the blood and urine test. She told me that my blood pressure was running a little high and that I should not eat much salty food. She wanted to know if I used a lot of salt on my food. I told her that I eat a lot of 김Kim with my rice and she got a big kick out of that. All of the Koreans at the hospital got to wear these pink or blue hospital suits. Luckily, I didn't have to wear one. Maybe they did not have my size. They had to do my chest X-Ray in two parts. They had some great laughs about this. The doctor even said "Jason, you are not fat, but you are ......." I finished her statement "Big." The bad news was the blood pressure and the good news was that I have lost about 7KG since coming back to Korea. That is a little over 15 pounds. I don't know what Korean food does to my system, but the weight sure does come off fast. In about two weeks, I will finally have my ARC card and that will be relief. It has almost been a year since I have had one. After all the drama of last year with the job situation, it will be nice to get back to a normal existence in Korea! I was worried about the new regulations and wasn't sure what to expect at the hospital, but everything seems to be going smoothly.

That sounds about the same as the medical test I had to do a few months ago when I was leaving Korea (just my hagwon did it). I'm coming back in a few weeks and that takes a lot of the anxiety away, worrying about what to expect. I assume that this test was done quite recently with the VISA regs behind it all. Thanks for the blog. Very informative!
Thanks for the comment. Yeah the medical test was more than what I expected, but still not invasive at all. Yeah and it was all about the VISA regs. Glad you like the blog. Thanks.
