I headed downtown near City Hall today to get some shots of the changing of the guard and just some random shots near the stream. Well, that changed after I saw all the police around the Korean Press building. I have a ton of photos to process and I think that I got a few that will come out really nice. I was right up close for shoving match between the police and one of the protesters. It was quite interesting. I don't know if I have ever seen that many police in way place before. I believe that the protest was because of the Youngsan fire, but I am not quite sure. I ended up following the riot police for a good stretch and it actually could have been two different protests. They were shifting back and forth from one corner to another. Here are a few of photos of the day. More to come later.
I have lived in Korea since 2005 and love living and working here. I have taught at a few different private schools. I currently work at a great school in Dongtan, a small new city near Suwon. If you have any questions about teaching or living in Korea, feel free to send me an email at jasonroberts1000 {at} gmail.com I am spending way too much time studying photography and most of my posts will probably deal with that more than life in Korea.

Nice photos.
How close were you to the gentlemen doing the changing of the guard? For that matter, how close were you to the soldiers?
Thanks!
I was pretty close to all of them, but I was using a 70-200mm zoom. Probably about 10 yards away, I would guess.
Information is great ....
thanks for sharing...
